Deputy Probation Officer Vick Mann, a dedicated member of the Sonoma County Probation Department for the past 16 years, was recently diagnosed with an aggressive form of thyroid cancer. Although doctors estimated he had three to six months to live, Vick's cancer progressed rapidly, and he passed away just three weeks later.

Deputy James Morgan dedicated his life to serving and protecting his community with the San Joaquin County Sheriff's Office. In 2022, while participating in a week-long Mounted Patrol Unit training, James suffered a devastating spinal injury after being thrown from his horse. True to his character, he continued working through the pain until his injuries became too severe to ignore.

For the past 20 years, Gail has proudly served the community through the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office with professionalism, integrity, and compassion. Beyond the badge, Gail is a devoted husband, father, partner, and friend who has always placed family and service above all else.
